Carson Kressley on Australian Big Brother

I never got the Carson Kressley thing until last night on Big Brother Australia. I always found Mr Kressley a little over the top annoying, but last night I saw what it is about him people clearly love and it is this… he’s very switched on.
Despite being an obvious tie-in with Kressley’s new show airing on the same network Carson Kressley entered Big Brother and wowed the housemates. He gave them all make-overs and was very kind to them, particularly to one young man named Travis.
Travis for those that aren’t watching is a young man of 20 with a high pitched voice and extremely camp demeanor. Now being camp by no means suggests you’re automatically gay, but young Travis has set gaydars off all over the country and one thinks he set off Carson’s too. When Carson asked if he liked boys or girls he was treading carefully, though the response of “girls” and the following story about his last girlfriend from church led to Carson saying “I like you no matter who you are” or words to that effect.
Perhaps Carson, like some other viewers, including me felt bad for this guy. He may or may not be gay, but his most treasured item was his bible and he seems more gay than Liberace at a pride parade. I just have this awful picture of Travis marrying one girl, having children, then realizing he’s gay and it’s time to come out when he’s 35. Kressley was a true gent, whether he was picking up on that vibe or not, just to say, it’s alright to be who you truly are… even though it fell on deaf ears.
