Don’t feel bad if you don’t remember the big voiced Irish gal Carly Smithson from American Idol last year. Smithson has been letting it be known that most people don’t remember her anymore anyway.
After touring with the season 7 Idol cast, being thrust into the spotlight, attending press junkets and even having her own stylist, Smithson is lamenting the good old days and saying that most Idol stars have a bleak future.
Smithson states that “When you’re in American Idol you are in a fishbowl, but as soon as you get out of the whole process, you’re still in a fishbowl, but it’s just a bigger bowl” – huh? Anyway, what she’s basically complaining about is that after the tour ended she was left standing alone as a nobody at the curb at Burbank airport and she suddenly realized it was time to go it alone. Good luck to her though, she was one of the ones with actual talent last year. It does make you wonder what happens to the rest of these people who pin everything they have on Idol. It also makes you wonder why they bother being so excited at getting through in the first place… just look at what happens folks and keep it in mind.
