Bonnie Hunt Does Daytime

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be enough space left on daytime TV for another talk show, you were wrong. You may recall we covered the station pickup stats for this one some time ago.

The Bonnie Hunt Show will be hitting our screens soon and will be an unscripted talk show starring of course, Bonnie Hunt. Now, Hunt is actually an improv performer anyway, but bringing that to TV could just bring a whole heap of weirdness with it. Apparently the show will open with Hunt giving a monologue on current events, her life, behind the scenes and so on. Don’t worry, this won’t be an attempt to steal Ellen’s crown since Hunt herself says she doesn’t do stand up. The show will then continue with some guests, improv that involves interaction with the audience and a five piece house band to keep the show bouncing along.

Only time will tell whether the show is actually any good, but it does have the backing of Telepictures Productions, who also make The Ellen Degeneres Show and The Tyra Banks Show, so there’s hope there at least. Let’s see if Hunt can pull off unscripted well and if viewers will like it.
