Belarus Big Bang Theory rip off upsets Chuck Lorre
And rightly so, though on first viewing this I actually thought it might be a viral campaign for the US show, apparently it’s not. If you’ve seen the clip of the Belarusian TV series The Theorists, you’ll know straight away what it looks like, Big Bang Theory. The official site for The Theorists features screenshots that also look eerily familiar. Problem being there’s no way Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre can sue because the [according to some sources] the TV production company in Belarus is run by the Belarus government. Bummer.
You can check out the main characters of The Theorists below. According to Lorre they include “Sheldon, Leo, Hovard, Raj and Natasha” and it’s a “sitcom about four nerdy scientists who live next door to a beautiful blonde waitress.”
