Battlestar Galactica’s Emmy nightmare

It’s a well known fact that the science-fiction genre is loathed overlooked by the Emmy’s, but this year I thought the nominations would be different, this year I honestly expected Battlestar Galactica to get the Emmy nod. Sure it got the usual technical achievement plaudits, but Battlestar Galactica is so much more than that, with a cast that is so well deserving of an Emmy it’s a travesty they’re not nominated.

Outstanding Drama – which is what Battlestar Galactica is – had nominees like House and Lost, now come on if Lost is nominated it’s really a bit of a crock, it’s a good show, but not mind-blowing. ‘Best Actor in a Drama Series’… James Spader in Boston Legal!? Is Boston Legal even a drama?

Anyway I realize it seems like a fangirl rant, but I honestly do believe – my personal bias aside – that Battlestar Galactica has been hard done to when it comes to the Emmy’s, the shows creators and actors deserve better.
