Battlestar Galactica spinoff series Caprica finally gets the green light

 Caprica greenlit Battlestar Galactica spinoff

It’s been an anxious wait, with series being greenlit all around it, but nothing happening with Battlestar Galactica spin-off series Caprica. Finally though the Sci Fi Channel has announced it has indeed ordered episodes of Caprica pushing it to full season status.

With the final 10 episodes of Battlestar Galactica beginning in January (at last!!!) this is a little light at the end of a Caprica free life. Sadly though fans of the universe will need to wait until 2010 to check out the spin-off series, which is set 50 years prior to the events in Battlestar Galactica. Caprica follows the Graystones and the Adamas, two feuding families. It will star Esai Morales as Joseph Adama (Battlestar Galactica’s William (Bill) Adama’s father) and Eric Stoltz as the head of the Graystone family.

With production on the series not set till next summer it’s going to be a long wait.
