Well the answer to that seems to be that the UK show Bad Girls will be developed into an American version.
There have been rumors about this outing for top drama Bad Girls for some time, but it looks like Alan Ball is teaming up with HBO once again to get the American version made. No doubt it’ll be a lot more glam that the UK version and will probably have some big names attached to it – hopefully it’ll preserve the grittiness of the UK version. The UK Bad Girls currently shows on MTV Networks’ gay channel Logo, where it has a huge cult following.
The show ran for a full 8 seasons in the UK on ITV and is a big seller on DVD. Ball is going to be on board as an executive producer as well as overseeing the writing team, just like he did for Six Feet Under. Here’s hoping he brings Amanda Donohoe back into the fray – she is awesome.
So, It the remake going to happen? I have not seen any news of this since 2008 with HBO picking up the FX contract for Bad Girls.
