Angela Bassett joins ER

You read it right, movie actress and Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett has signed on to join the final season of ER. Bassett will play an aid doctor returning to Chicago after undertaking aid work in Indonesia.

Angela Bassett has had a long career that started in the 80’s with a lot of TV work. She then started making movies and in 1994 was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in What’s Love Got To Do With It (in which she played Tina Turner and did an amazing job I might add).

Bassett is married to actor Courtney B Vance, who has appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent as A.D.A. Ron Carver.
