I know I wasn’t the only one who was disappointed in the latest Hollywood round of American Idol. The contestants in this show on the whole were extremely unimpressive and failed to produce much. This is why the entire concept of the rounds of twelve sucks. The first round of twelve had TOO many decent contestants in it and this one had less than a handful. It’s a worrying time when Nick and his crazy character Norman (Normund) is one of the highlights of the night.
The contestants seemed to completely lose track of who they were, with many looking uncomfortable, singing off-key and generally picking songs that don’t suit them. This is their moment to shine and getting to choose their their song should help, but sadly it eluded most of them. The only other contestant that seemed half-decent was Allison Iraheta who brought her youth to a Heart song and Adam Lambert who satisfied with The Rolling Stones ‘Satisfaction’.
There are no results as yet, but it’ll be interesting to see whether the public vote with their heart or head on this round.
