American Idol Gossip – Carly, Michael & Perrie

If you watched this weeks episode of American Idol you would have seen the return of Irish / American singer Carly. Carly appeared on American Idol in 2005, but was disqualified when her visa fell through. Now a naturalized citizen Carly is back on the show this season and made it through to the Hollywood round.

The thing about Carly is, she seemed like a nice girl, but she had a record deal with MCA Records in 2001, she even supported Brian Adams on tour. This begs the question: Is it fair for a professional to go up against newcomers?

I’m in two minds about this really. If she’s not breaking the rules of the show by having had a record contract previously, then I guess everyone deserves a fair go or another chance. Time will tell what happens with Carly this time around.

A little further gossip about our American Idol wannabes, this time it’s that handsome Aussie you probably spotted . Apparently he’s a bit of a rogue. There are a few reports he’s been in two bands and allegedly ‘stole’ (harsh word) some ‘film tracks’ when he left one of the bands and passed them off as his own. Tut tut. Like Hennessy (aka Smithson) Michael Johns also has had a name change, he used to be Michael Lee.

Lastly we’ve got loving dad and ‘good guy’ Perrie Cataldo. Perrie played the I’m a single dad card in his audition and it went down well, I know I immediately let out an ‘aww’ when they showed his cute kid and it was revealed mommy had died in some tragic circumstance. Well apparently this ‘nice’ guy was kicked out of a bar in 2006 and took it upon himself to return with a gun… here’s hoping Simon doesn’t piss him off.
