Amanda Holden’s sitcom Big Top is a circus

Amanda Holden is probably now most famous for her role as a judge on the UK version of X-Factor, despite being an actress long before that gig came along. As well as X-Factor she’s got her new sitcom “Big Top” in the works and she thinks it’s the perfect getaway in these harsh economic times.

Big Top sees Holden as the ringmistress (how very politically correct) of a circus her dad used to run until he was thrown in jail. Holden suggests “Big Top is very funny but it’s touching, too. In this current climate who wants to watch a desperate family in their living room?”. It sounds like it might be okay, if you live in the UK and want to tune in, it’s on BBC One weekly from December 2.
