Zombieland 2? In 3D?

Zombieland

One of my favorite films of 2009 was Zombieland. Along with District 9, this was one of those movies that came out of nowhere without filling me with hope for months ahead only to completely rule at the cinema.

A sequel is surely on the cards. And as far back as October the people behind the surprise hit of the year were suggesting this was the case. However, rumors then followed that Zombieland 2 wasn’t happening because piracy had affected sales of the first.

Not so, according to director Ruben Fleischer. He told Moviehole that he’s up for a sequel, Sony is up for a sequel, and the entire cast and crew are also up for a sequel. So it looks as though a sequel is almost guaranteed to happen in a couple of years time.

But what to expect? There’s likely to be more of the same zombie kills and dark humor on show. However, Zombieland 2 may be in 3D as Fleischer believes “the genre really lends itself to [3D].”

I’m not that bothered about 3D if I’m honest but I am pleased that it looks as though Zombieland 2 is now a dead cert.
