Sure, I could post a photo of one of the kids, but I’d rather see Hugh Jackman.
A day without Wolverine news is like a day without sunshine, puppies, and Reese’s peanut butter cups. So to keep you in the loop, we bring you news from ComingSoon that Kodi Smit-McPhee is out of the role as young Logan.
(are you done saying, “Who? Who?” yet?)
Seems that when the Wolverine shoot was pushed back it created a conflict with Smit-McPhee’s other big break, the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, where he’ll wander a post-apocalyptic world with dad Viggo Mortensen. It’s all well and good for Smit-McPhee, because his part in The Road is, I would think, much bigger than the Wolverine role. And going from Junior Hugh Jackman to Son of Viggo Mortensen seems like an equal trade. It is a tragedy for us, however, because Smit-McPhee is undoubtedly one of the most fun names to say I’ve run across in a while. Godspeed, Smit-McPhee! I’ll miss you from our Wolverine updates!
The new young Logan is Troye Mellet, a resident of Perth, Australia. Perth Now reports that Mellet was discovered through videos of him singing that were posted on YouTube. The PerthNow article posted the videos of him singing. I don’t know if this talent will help him out any in this particular movie, but at least he and Hugh Jackman can sit around and sing together when things get slow on the set (Hugh, come back to Broadway, we miss you!).
