Who’s In: Dark Knight Character Info

If the Scarecrow has a brain, he’ll show up in The Dark Knight.
BadTaste Italy has obtained a character list for The Dark Knight. Okay, most of the list is made up of glorified extra names such as “Heckler,” “First Mate,” and “Convoy Leader.” The most notable name, though, is Scarecrow, and I don’t know if it had been confirmed previously that he’d be making an appearance. No word on how big a part he’ll be playing–I’m guessing it’s small, but hey, any Cillian Murphy is better than no Cillian Murphy as far as I’m concerned. Here’s the list:

(Hey, don’t laugh at parts like “Bounty Hunter #2.” That may have gotten someone his SAG card.)
Also, here are some locations that appear in the film:
- A talk show set.
- A holding cell and a holding area.
- A observation / interrogation room.
- Joker’s Lair is defined an “abattoir”. Is it figurate or a real slaughterhouse?
- Gotham Symphony Hall.
- Scarecrow’s Van in a Parking Garage
- A ferry terminal
- The Applied Science Division at Wayne Ent.
- A lamborghini near a TV Station and through Gotham streets
- Harvey Dent’s room at Gotham General Hospital
My favorite is “Scarecrow’s Van in a Parking Garage.” I just have this picture of Scarecrow and Joker wandering around on level P4 mumbling, “I thought you said you were parked right here,” “I’m sure it is…I think. Wait, isn’t that–oh, never mind…”
Finally, here are some quotes from Christopher Nolan, as posted by ComingSoon via the LA Times:
“Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart is a tragic figure, and his story is the backbone of this film.”
On the subject of the Joker, Nolan said he:
“…sort of cuts through the film–he’s got no story arc, he’s just a force of nature tearing through. Heath has given an amazing performance in the role, it’s really extraordinary.”
(No story arc? Do you mean he just wanders in and out for no apparent reason other than to pull the occasional wacky prank? Is this supposed to make us feel better?)
And finally, Nolan warns us not to expect a lot of laughs:
“It’s a dark and complex story and the villains are dark and complex as well.”
Well, it IS a Dark Knight.
