Wes Anderson Talks Cast for “Grand Budapest Hotel”

Wes Anderson, looking like a director.

If you are Wes Anderson, or a fan of his work, then 2012 was a good year, thanks to the success of “Moonrise Kingdom.” The indie box office hit and awards contender seems to have prompted Anderson to move quickly to his next project, “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” which he describes as a “Euro movie” and a “period picture.” We’ve heard bits and pieces about who is in the cast, but in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he lists the whole cast, or as least as much as he can remember:

We have Ralph Fiennes, and we have Tilda Swinton and Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, we have F. Murray Abraham and Jude Law, and we’ve got Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, and Mathieu Amalric. And I think Owen is gonna have a little part, too. Oh, Saoirse Ronan has quite a big part. I’m thinking if I’ve forgotten anybody. Yeah, we have a good group.

I can imagine Saiorse Ronan working through that whole paragraph and thinking, “Hey…I’m supposed to be in this, right? Did this guy actually cast me? Oh, wait, there I am. Thanks.”

I would guess that you could expect to see “The Grand Budapest Hotel” in 2014, but you could also take some time in 2013 to visit some of the grand hotels in the lovely city of Budapest.
