Wahlberg Talks ‘The Happening’ - Possible Future ‘Entourage’ Movies

Possible Future ‘Entourage’ Movies

The Happening is a stinker of a movie, really very bad, and as we discussed yesterday, is currently sitting on Rotten Tomatoes with a dire rating of 19%. However, Mark Wahlberg does a fairly good job, it’s just that he is woefully miscast in the role of a scared family man to begin with.

He recently spoke to Moviefone about the movie, and how he came to be involved, as well as his plans for the future.

It looks as though he took on The Happening mainly because he was a fan of director M. Night Shyamalan. Which means it’s unfortunate that this seems to be the dud that proves not everything Shyamalan touches turns to gold.

More interesting than what little Wahlberg had to say about The Happening was what he had to say about his big screen hopes for Entourage, the HBO show that Wahlberg is an executive producer of. He said:

“We’re doing Season 5 right now. We’re hoping for maybe three [or] four more seasons, and then maybe a film or two. Obviously the ‘Sex and the City’ success has opened up a window of opportunity there.”

I think an Entourage movie could be massive, but only if it was handled well, and only made when the television show had reached the end of its natural life. I wonder if Wahlberg would want a piece of the on-screen action if it ever did get turned in to a film?
