W Trailer…You Know, the President, Right?

This is already on my strange movies list.  

Perhaps with all the primary and election buzz of the last year, you’ve almost forgotten that George W. Bush is still president. The announcement and subsequent filming of Oliver Stone’s biopic of Bush didn’t do anything to dispell the illusion that he’s been out of office for a while. But no, he is still president, which is why the whole movie is kind of weird. Do we want to watch the life of a sitting president on the big screen? Well, The Queen turned out pretty well. But then again, there weren’t any scenes of Elizabeth playing beer pong at a frat party (unless I missed that scene–correct me if I’m wrong and I’ll have to run out and check that one again).

Anyway, strange as the whole enterprise may seem (at least to me), here is the first trailer for Stone’s film W.

So two thoughts: a) it’s Josh Brolin’s year and we’re all just living in it and b) this is going to be one crazy movie.
