“Valentine’s Day” Attracts Three More

topher grace

Topher Grace will get Anne Hathaway for Valentine’s Day.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the Topher Grace, Emma Roberts, and Hector Elizondo have joined the cast of “Valentine’s Day.” Garry Marshall is directing the romantic comedy which is made up of multiple slightly overlapping stories taking place on one Valentine’s Day. In other words, yes, it is “Love, Actually.” Other previously announced cast members include Julia Roberts (yes! Emma’s aunt! isn’t that cute?!), Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher.

Here’s what the newbies will be doing: “Grace plays a mailroom worker in the town’s biggest agency who’s dating Hathaway. Roberts plays a teen who wants to lose her virginity to her boyfriend. Elizondo plays MacLaine’s husband.”

(You know, the Emma Roberts storyline is something that would make me feel a little weird to do with a relative on the set if I was a teen actress. But maybe that’s just me. In fact, it probably is.)

In an odd note, Hector Elizondo has been in all of Garry Marshall’s movies and this is the third Marshall movie he’s made with Roberts. Garry Marshall, fond of the familiar.

It’s been too long since we’ve seen Topher Grace. He’s got “Young Americans” coming out this year, but otherwise hasn’t been onscreen since “Spider-Man 3.” And I’m not going to blame that on him. I’d like to see more of him. Though I probably won’t be seeing him in this “Valentine’s Day” thing. It sounds a bit annoying to me. But maybe that’s just me. It probably is.
