Untitled David O. Russell Movie Gets December 2013 Release Date, Adds Alessandro Nivola

Alessandro Nivola joins the December scheduled untitled David O. Russell.

It’s a good day for fans of information about David O. Russell’s untitled next film. First we heard that Alessandro Nivola has been added to the cast, which already includes Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Louis C.K. Then we heard that they all better get to work fast because the movie has been officially scheduled for a December13 limited release and a nationwide release on Christmas day.

“Untitled David O. Russell” project, as we will call it for now, has a script by Eric Singer. It is described this way by Columbia Pictures:

“The film is based on the true story of a notorious financial con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Adams), who were forced to work with an out of control federal agent (Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.”

Nivola will play a federal prosecutor. He just finished filming “Devil’s Knot” and can also be seen in fall festival favorite “Ginger and Rosa.”
