Tina Fey may be busy this week getting ready to host the Golden Globes with Amy Poehler, but she seems to have time to make deals, too. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fey is in talks to star in “The Muppets” sequel. Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell are already in the cast.
James Bobin is returning to direct the sequel, and he also co-wrote the script with Nicholas Stoller. There’s no word on the plot, but so far we know Burrell is playing a “lazy Interpol guard,” and word is that Fey would be playing a “Russian gulag prison guard.” So it feels safe to say there is some international flair going on here.
Fey’s been busy with her sitcom “30 Rock,” last appearing on the big screen in 2010′s “Date Night.” She previously worked with Gervais in 2009′s “The Invention of Lying.” This summer Fey will be seen with Paul Rudd in “Admission.”
