Mads Mikkelsen will give Thor trouble.
Some little bits of casting news for the superhero sequels–
- Variety reports that Mads Mikkelson is in talks to play the villain in “Thor 2.” How appropriate, a Dane battling the Norse gods. Mikkelsen has bad guy experience, having played that role in “Casino Royale.” Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor, of course, and his usual nemesis, Loki as played by Tom Hiddleston, is also set to be back, along with Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, and Idris Elba. Alan Taylor is directing. The film is set for a November 15, 2013 release.
- Ashley Hamilton may be joining “Iron Man 3″ to play a villain named “Firepower.” It’s not the main villain role apparently; if it was, they probably wouldn’t be casting Hamilton, who has mostly played smallish roles during his lengthy, if not exactly high profile career. He is still best known as the sun of tan Hollywood legend George Hamilton.
- Jon Favreau may not be directing “Iron Man 3,” but he’ll be returning in his bit role as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s chauffeur/bodyguard. “Iron Man 3″ will be released on May 3, 2013.
