Third ‘Twilight’ Movie Coming June 2010 – Eclipse Already On Way
We’ve already had the Twilight movie, which didn’t go down too well with many fans. And the next movie in the four book series, New Moon, is currently being made, and is scheduled for a November, 2009 release. So, why bother delaying making the rest of the series?
According to Variety, Summit Entertainment has announced the release date for Eclipse, the third film in the series, and it’s coming a little sooner than expected. Just seven months after the release of New Moon, Eclipse will hit the big screen, with June, 2010 now set as the release date.
Despite poor reviews, Twilight made good money, so Summit was always going to forge ahead with making and releasing the sequels. But 12 months and then seven months? Doesn’t that sound a little too close together? How much care and attention can be labored on the movies with that fast a turnaround?
The good news is that the June release date signals an intent to move into prime time, with the summer months usually reserved for the big-budget guaranteed hits of the year. Summit must assume that by the time of the third movie, more than just the fans of the books will be interested, making it a surefire smash.

I love love love Twilight!!! I havenly read the books but I’ve seen the first movie about 30 times! I’m uber excited for the new release and am stokked to find out the third installment is due out next summer! For true obsessive Twilight fans like me, 12 months and 7 month seems too long for me!
