Wolverine has a viper.
This is what we’ve known about “The Wolverine,” the follow-up to the less than popular “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”: that it stars Hugh Jackman, will be directed by James Mangold, and is filming in Australia. What we haven’t known is who will play the female lead, Viper. Seemingly every hot actress has been rumored for the role, but there’s been nothing official–until now.
SuperheroHype says that Svetlana Khodchenkova has won the role. Khodchenkova is a Russian actress who was most recently seen in “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” I can’t comment on whether Khodchenkova is an appropriate choice for the part because I’ve never seen her act. If being blonde and beautiful are requirements, though, then she’s a fine choice.
We also now have an official synopsis:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, THE WOLVERINE finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
“The Wolverine” is scheduled for release on July 26, 2013. The rest of the cast includes Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
