The Internet has changed the world in a range of different ways. It’s putting newspapers out of business; more people than ever can experience five minutes of fame; and pornography is easier to get hold of than ever.
This last one has pleased people from all walks of life and from everywhere around the world. But one person that it hasn’t pleased is Natalie Portman, the actress who hasn’t been shy in getting her kit off in several movies.
The problem is that any bit of nudity, no matter how obtuse or slight, find its way inevitably onto the Web. Be it in photo form or a video clip, actors and actresses suddenly can’t get a body part out without it being splashed around online.
According to Just Jared, Natalie Portman recently told V Magazine:
“It’s annoying because online bulls**t interferes with what I want to do artistically. I’m not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I’m very opposed to pornography sites and you’re pretty much giving them material if you do any of that. It’s always a big dilemma for me.”
Portman is entitled to her opinion of course, and I don’t know how I’d feel about it if I were an actor. But I personally don’t have a problem with pornography or with naked pictures of celebrities. And Natalie Portman hasn’t got anything to be shy about.
