The Incredibly Uncertain Hulk: Norton Ponders Future

Norton Hulk

We hardly new ya, Norton-Bruce-Banner.

Undoubtedly you’ve been wondering whether there’s going to be a sequel to this summer’s Incredible Hulk. Really? You weren’t? Well, you can be sure that star and stealth writer Edward Norton’s been wondering, too. MTV’s Splash Page reports that he has no more clue than you or I.

“The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque,” Norton told MTV News. “I won’t say [they're] obtuse, but I don’t have any idea what they want to do.”

Good job throwing down all your adjectives that begin with “o”, Ed!

Hulk performed decently, but was hardly a blockbuster. It certainly wasn’t big enough to make a sequel a slam dunk, with or without Norton. But there is definitely going to be an Avengers movie, set for release in 2011. The Hulk is set to be part of the team, along with Captain America, Iron Man, and a few other Marvel characters. Norton also hasn’t had any word on that. he might not be necessary anyway–they could conceivably due an Avengers movie featuring just the big green Hulk, but no Bruce Banner. No Bruce, no actor, no actor, no Norton. I’d at least be unhappy. I always rather like Ed. Say what you will about Hulk, but Norton never gives a dull perfomance. Come on Marvel, invite him into the Avengers even if just for a wee little cameo. It’ll be fun.
