Stanley Tucci Will Make Life Difficult for “Jack the Giant Killer”

Stanley Tucci

Stanley Tucci will concoct evil plots in “Jack and the Giant Killer.”

Heat Vision reports that Stanley Tucci has joined the cast of “Jack the Giant Killer.” Bryan Singer is directing the expanded version of the fairy tale (yes, another fairy tale). The most recent version of the script was written by Christopher McQuarrie.

The story is about “a princess is kidnapped, threatening the long-standing peace between humans and giants.  A young farmer is then forced to lead a rescue mission to the giants’ kingdom.” Tucci will play a villainous advisor to the king. Bil Nighy and John Kassir will play Fallon, the two headed leader of the giants, with the roles colorfully described as Nighy playing the big head and Kassir playing the small head. No Jack has been cast yet, though Singer reportedly has tested a number of actors, with Nicholas Hoult supposedly the favorite. Considering that Singer produced “X-Men: First Class,” with Hoult as a member of that class, you’d think Hoult might have an inside track.

Ahh, Stanley Tucci, so attractive, yet so often cast as a bad guy. Yet he does it so well, as he does everything so well.

No dates on this one yet. Hopefully we’ll get some word on Jack and a princess soon. And more giants.

  1. Romantic Comedies

Wow, Hollywood is crazy about fairy tales right now. After Snow White, Beauty and The Beast, Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood, now this too. Well, I hope it’s gonna be good. It has Nighy and Tucci in it, so I think I’ll watch it.
