Seth Green: ‘Austin Powers 4′ Isn’t Happening… Yet

‘Austin Powers 4? Isn’t Happening… Yet

A couple of weeks ago, I reported how the supermodel Gisele was being lined up as the new Austin Powers girl, following in the footsteps of Heather Graham, Beyonce and Elizabeth Hurley. Unfortunately it seems the whole story was made up, and not only was Gisele never given a script or offered a part, there is no Austin Powers 4 to begin with.

First of all, Michael McCullers, the writer of the previous two films in the comedy spy series, rubbished the claims, asserting that he hasn’t heard of any plans for a new film in the franchise. Now, Seth Green, who plays Dr. Evil’s son in the films, has added his weight to the denials, telling MTV Movies:

“Giselle…the model??”

“I’ll tell you what. If a script for ‘Austin Powers 4’ gets written and then it gets greenlit by whatever version of New Line is still making movies, and everybody agrees to do it, then we’ll have something to talk about. But at this point, ‘Austin Powers 4’ is nothing more than something Mike Myers talked about off-handedly during the ‘Shrek’ press.”

So there, we have been told. There is no Austin Powers 4 movie being made, and even if there were, I think Green’s reaction says everything we need to know about the chances of Gisele being given a part.

It seems not all hope is lost for the prospects of a new Austin Powers film though, as Mike Myers, the main man behind it all, is said to have been keen to make a new film, but this time from the perspective of Dr. Evil. Sounds intriguing, make it happen!
