Marlon Wayans, you’re in the army now.
Slashfilm has news that Marlon Wayans has joined the cast of GI Joe. Reportedly Wayans will be playing Ripcord. Previously announced cast members include Sienna Miller and Ray Park. Wayans, who has a lengthy film and TV resume, most recently appeared in Norbit, Little Man, and White Chicks. I’m not going to say anything else. Judge for yourself, GI Joe fans.
Gordon-Levitt is apparently still in negotiations, so he isn’t a lock yet. I’m torn on this one. I’ve always been a fan, since way, way back when the kid was doing things like sad kid of the week turns on shows like Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. So I’m always glad to see him doing well and getting cast is doing well. He’s more than earned his acting cred and probably could use a good paycheck after all the small indie movies he’s done, so I can’t grudge him too much for going into something like Joe, which doesn’t really look great at this point. But I don’t know if he’s enough to get me to sit through it.
