Sandler Casts All-Friend Lineup in Next Comedy

Chris Rock and Adam Sandler, with Burt Reynolds, in the ill-advised remake of “The Longest Yard.”

Variety reports that Adam Sandler has filled out the cast of his next film with a bunch of old friends: Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Kevin James. Dennis Dugan is directing a script written by Sandler and Fred Wolf (responsible for “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star”).

The untitled comedy is about a group of high school friends who reunite thirty years later over a July 4th weekend. This is not unlike the real life cast, all of whom (except James) worked together on “Saturday Night Live” in the early 1990s or so. Of course, when these guys reunite, they get paid in amounts that include lots of zeroes on the checks. Now that’s a nice gig.

What can we do to give this movie a twist? Hey, how about they set their reunion on a camping trip…to Crystal Lake?
