My Two Dads–Henry Cavill should be looking for a Father’s Day gift for Russell Crowe.
Kevin Costner is playing Superman’s earth dad in Zack Snyder’s new Superman movie, ”Man of Steel,” but how about his, well, real dad, or space dad? Jor-El, the role made famous by Marlon Brando in the first, Christopher Reeve “Superman?” We have an answer! Showblitz tells us that Russell Crowe has taken the role. Yes, one talented, surly, oft-misunderstood actor is stepping in for another talented, surly, oft-misunderstood actor. By the way, Brando made headlines when he was cast in “Superman” by demanding, and getting $3.7 million plus 10% of the gross for his thirteen days of work in the movie (thirteen days? he’s in the movie for about five minutes, isn’t he?). That was a record back then. No word on whether Crowe was able to swing a similar deal.
Henry Cavill is playing Clark Kent. His earth mom will be played by Diane Lane. Amy Adams is Lois Lane and Michael Shannon is bad guy General Zod.
That’s the major casting. What else is there to cast? Is there no Jimmy Olsen? How about Perry White? And Mrs. Jor-El? Word is they’re looking for a big name to play that role. Angelina? Got some time?
