Robert De Niro and Drew Barrymore Lead ‘Everybody’s Fine’ Cast

Robert De Niro seems to be busier than ever, despite his advancing years. Once known for serious, drama based roles, he has also seemed to mellow in his old age, and seems much more at home in family comedies such as Meet The Parents.

According to Variety, he is now set to star in Everybody’s Fine, along with Drew Barrymore, Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale.

The movie is a remake of the Giuseppe Tornatore film Stanno Tutti Bene which has been written by and is set to be directed by Kirk Jones.

The film puts De Niro in the role of a widower who finds that once his wife dies, he no longer has any connection with his kids. So he does what any self respecting dad who wants to bond with his kids does, and sets out on a road trip with the whole family.

Along the way, the family, full of now grown up kids, find that their lives are far from perfect.

Miramax Films have acquired worldwide rights to the film, and it will begin shooting in Connecticut later this month.

Before that, Barrymore will next be seen in He’s Just Not That Into You and Grey Gardens. Beckinsale is starring in Nothing But the Truth and Winged Creatures, while Rockwell will be seen in Frost/Nixon.
