Reitman Latches onto Cody’s Body

Jennifer’s Body

The Juno crew at the Toronto Film Festival, Reitman on the far left, Cody on the far right, movie stars in between.

Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody, fresh off the much-buzzed about but not even open yet Juno are pairing up again for Jennifer’s Body.

The Hollywood Reporter describes the plot thusly:

“Body” tells the story of a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her “plain Jane” best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshiping rock band responsible for the transformation

Cheerleaders cannibalizing country boys? So those girls actually DO have talent.

Megan Fox of Transformers fame is set to star. Here’s hoping that she’s playing the cheerleader and they’re not doing the “stick some glasses on the pretty girl thing” so she can take the much more interesting sounding “Plain Jane” part.

Reitman directed Cody’s Juno screenplay, but so far is only set to produce Body, along with partner Dan Dubiecki for their Hard C production company. No word on if there is a director yet, or if Reitman is an implied choice. Reitman’s done a nice job of stepping out from his father’s tremendous directing shadow, with the solid effort Thank You for Smoking and of course, the “Everybody Loves Juno,” so there’s no reason to distrust him as a producer…yet.
