Pulling Out the Truth: Visit to Mike Judge’s ‘Extract’ Set

Look at this nice joint picture of Mike Judge and Jason Bateman that someone else did for me.
ComingSoon spent some time on the set of Mike Judge’s upcoming film Extract. Read the whole story here.
Extract is about the owner of a food coloring extract company (Jason Bateman) who’s life seems to be going great until one bad moment triggers a series of bad decisions that make things worse and worse. JK Simmons, Mila Kunis, Ben Affleck and Kristen Wiig also star.
Producer John Altschuler contributes to the description:
“‘Office Space’ is all about nothing getting made. Then he thought it’d be really interesting to do a movie about things concretely being made. He had this vision of a factory… Mike Judge is all about how weird the real world is,”
Jason Bateman, what’s your take?
“It’s a story about a guy who is the classic sort of protagonist and then he tries to be proactive with something and of course that blows up in his face. It’s a victim sort of comedy as opposed to the protagonist who’s initiating a lot of the comedy. A lot of the comedy sort of happens to the character. It’s a lot like ‘Arrested Development.’”
A lot like Arrested Development? Good news for many (like me), no doubt.
Well, not like I needed that push–Jason Bateman and Mike Judge? I’m already there. Whenever that is–the movie currently doesn’t have a release date because, as Bateman says, “they’re aren’t enough shorts [in the movie].”
They’re hoping for a spring release. How about a January relase, you know that time when the movies are so bad it feels like going to the movies is a penance? Trust me, you’d all help keep people sane–or at least a little more than usual during that time of the year.
