Paula Patton Lands Lead in Don’t Call It “Mission Impossible 4″

Paula Patton will star in a movie not called “Mission: Impossible 4.” 

According to Deadline, Paula Patton has been cast as the female lead in the fourth “Mission: Impossible” film.Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner are already set to star. Brad Bird is directing, and Cruise is producing along with J.J. Abrams (along with a million other producers, as usual).

Patton is supposed to play “a young operative who works with Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character.” Kristen Kreuk and Lauren German also tested for the role. By the way, the movie will not be called “Mission: Impossible 4.” This is considered a “franchise reboot,” so that means a new name…I guess. I hope they choose a title soon, otherwise we’ll all be stuck with “Untitled Fourth Mission Impossible Film.”
