A new science fiction thriller based aboard a spaceship has been announced by Constantin Film and Impact Pictures, and Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster are both said to be keen to sign up for the project.
According to Dark Horizons, the film, called Pandorum, is set aboard an abandoned space vessel, where two crewmen awake with memory loss, no idea where they are, who they are, what has happened, or their mission. The pair then slowly uncover details, before making a discovery that threatens the very survival of mankind itself.
Christian Alvart is set to direct, while the film also reunites the successful producing team of Impact Pictures’ Paul W. S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt, with Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer. Kulzer spoke about his hopes for the feature:
“We really look forward to working with Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster. Dennis has this true movie star quality and versatility, and Ben is such an intense and fascinating young actor.”
The film is currently scheduled to go in to production sometime in August and will be shot in Berlin, Germany.
Quaid seems to be having a real resurgence to his career, with Vantage Point and Smart People already under his belt in recent months. He also has The Express, G.I. Joe and Legion either currently filming, or just finishing up.
