Many men will be happy that Olivia Munn will be in ”Magic Mike,” but remember–this is a male stripper movie.
Ahh, one of my favorite upcoming films…well, at least because of its nonstop parade of casting news. We have more “Magic Mike” casting. This time Deadline tells us that Olivia Munn has joined the cast of Steven Soderbergh’s next film. Channing Tatum stars with Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Gabriel Iglesias, Cody Horn, and Riley Keough.
The film is based on Tatum’s own experiences moonlighting as a stripper while he tried to break into acting. Pettyfer plays the young Tatum role and Tatum will play the title character, the more experienced stripper who mentored him. Munn will play Tatum’s love interest, and Horn plays Pettyfer’s girl. No idea who Keough is playing. McConaughey is the strip club owner and Bomer, Manganiello, and Iglesias are playing…well, I guess just really good looking guys. Strippers? Customers? Something like that.
Munn can be seen on TV’s “The Daily Show” and will be on the big screen this fall in Sarah Jessica Parker’s “I Don’t Know How She Does It.” She just finished shooting the indie comedy “Babymakers.”
