So now this might be Johanna in "Catching Fire."
Remember a few days ago when we heard that Jena Malone was the frontrunner for the role of Johanna Mason in “Catching Fire” (or I should say, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”)? Yeah, well, never mind. Now Deadline is reporting that Zoe Aggeliki is in “the most serious talks” for the role.
Johanna, a previous winner of the Hunger Games, is described as sly and cunning, with a “wicked ability to murder.” Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) describes her as an “older sister who hates you.” Aggeliki is only eighteen and Lawrence is twenty-two, so yeah, that image isn’t exactly working.
Aggeliki is a model-actress, whose only acting credit is the upcoming “R.I.P.D.” In that film she plays “Nick’s Avatar.” So she’s a little low on experience. Okay, a lot low. If she gets the part, I wouldn’t blame Malone for blowing a few gaskets, as in “Hey, thanks for noticing all the good work I’ve done for like the last 15 years.”
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will be released on November 22, 2013.
