Nick Fury to Next Appear in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”

By Kirsten Anderson Movie News

Nick Fury takes 2013 off.

Marvel built the monster hit that became “The Avengers” by carefully placing characters from one film into tiny parts of others. One of the most common linkers was Nick Fury, the S.H.I.E.L.D leader played by Samuel L. Jackson. So now that “The Avengers” has brought everyone together (and will again in “The Avengers 2″), when will we next see Nick Fury?

Jackson told Examiner (via TotalFilm, no link given) that Fury will next appear in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which is scheduled to be released on April 4, 2014. That’s two Marvel releases away, after “Iron Man 3″ (May 3, 2013) and “Thor: The Dark World” (November 8, 2013).

Here’s what Jackson said:

“I think my next time as Nick Fury is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier because I’m not in Iron Man 3. None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It’s a standalone Iron Man movie.”

So it will be a while before you see Mr. Fury again. Sorry, fans.

“Captain America: TheWinter Soldier” stars Chris Evans as Captain America. The cast also includes Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, and Sebastian Stan. Joe and Anthony Russo will direct.
