Those of you out there who enjoyed The A-Team, and I’m assured there are a few of you hiding somewhere, should probably not hold their breaths waiting for the sequel. Because there is unlikely to be one.
This revelation, which isn’t actually all that surprising, comes courtesy of Liam Neeson, who played Hannibal in the big-screen remake of the classic TV series. He recently told The Daily Express, “I don’t think it made enough money … The studio don’t want it.”
The A-Team did make money, at least on paper – $177 million taken worldwide from a budget of $110 million – but not nearly enough to warrant continuing the series. People just didn’t seem all that interested in the film, the characters, or the storyline. For whatever reason.
This remake of The A-Team may have failed to set the world alight, but don’t worry, as there will surely be another attempt to reboot the series in a few years time. It’ll be the same old storyline but a new set of actors. And perhaps they’ll have better luck impressing the cinema-going public.
