Morgan Freeman Seriously Injured In Car Crash

Morgan Freeman, currently receiving plaudits for his portrayal of Batman’s loyal aide Lucius Fox in The Dark Knight, has been involved in a serious car crash. He is currently in hospital receiving treatment for a broken arm, elbow and some minor shoulder damage. He is said to be in good spirits and awake and talking.
AFP report that the crash happened just before midnight on August 3rd, when the 71-year-old Oscar-winner lost control of his vehicle on Highway 32 in Tallahatchie County. The car, a 1997 Nissan Maxima, flipped over several times, and Freeman and his female co-passenger had to cut free.
When the news was first reported, Freeman’s condition was said to be serious, but it has since emerged that he was conscious throughout and even joked to emergency services and onlookers. No other vehicle was thought to be involved in the crash but drink and drugs have been ruled out.
Freeman is a brilliant actor, and one of the most respected in Hollywood. He always gives great yet subtle performances and is even memorable in The Dark Knight despite playing what is essentially a bit-part. Let’s hope he recovers quickly and gets back to making movies as soon as possible.
