The adaptation of Richelle Mead’s “Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters” is filling out its ranks. The latest additions, according to Deadline, are Sarah Hyland, of TV’s “Modern Family,” and Gabriel Byrne, of, well, decades of lots of things.
“Vampire Academy,” as you may have guessed, involves a school with vampires and humans and their complicated relationships (we really need a cheerful, well-adjusted vampire buddy road movie, don’t we?). Byrne will play Victor, a leader at the Academy, and Hyland will play his daughter Natalie, the best friend of Rose and Lissa, the main characters, who will be played respectively by Lucy Fry and Zoey Deutch.
Other newcomers to the cast include Joely Richardson, who will play Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi, and Dominic Sherwood, who will play Christian, Lissa’s love interest. Of course he’s named Christian. Aren’t they always?
Other cast members include Olga Kurylenko, Danilo Kozlovski, Sami Gayle, Cameron Monaghan, Ashley Charles, and Claire Foy. Mark Waters is directing.
