More Star Trek Casting! Jennifer Morrison Boards The Enterprise

Bibi Besch as the original Dr. Carol Marcus; Jennifer Morrison, the next “intelligent scientist.”

Jennifer Morrison is the latest name attached to the Abrams’ big Star Trek pic. According to IESB, the House actress was spotted on the set, and though her management team confirmed she’s been cast, they wouldn’t say anything about her character. Speculation is that she is playing Carol Marcus, the mother of Kirk’s son. Marcus appeared in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. This is unconfirmed but it’s based on the fact that Morrison was seen in civilian clothes, rather than charming Star Fleet attire, and Marcus is indeed a non-Starfleet person.

Also noted: Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast to play Kirk’s father, George Samuel Kirk. Sr. Hemsworth’s an Australian actor, with mostly TV creds.

No word yet on who is playing Kirk’s inept younger brother, Carl.
