‘Monsters Vs. Aliens’ Cast Revealed – Witherspoon To Play Ginormia

The cast for DreamWorks new animated movie Monsters Vs. Aliens has been revealed, and it makes for a very interesting list. Top of that tree of intrigue has to be Reese Witherspoon playing a 50 foot tall monster called Ginormia.

According to Dark Horizons, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Stephen Colbert, Rainn Wilson, Kiefer Sutherland and Paul Rudd will also be voicing characters in the Ultimate 3D filmed movie.

The plot for the movie sounds intriguing, with Witherspoon’s character Susan Murphy being unexpectedly hit by a meteor from outer space which makes her grow to over 50 feet tall.

The American government obviously capture her/it/that freak, as is their job, and hold her in a secret compound. This leads the world to learn that Ginormia isn’t the first monster to be captured alive, and that the military has rounded up many others over the years.

These specimens include the brilliant but insect headed Dr. Cockroach, played by House star Hugh Laurie, and half ape, half fish, hybrid weirdo, The Missing Link, voiced by Will Arnett.

Monsters Vs. Aliens will be directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2), and is scheduled for a March 2009 release.
