Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Moretz Join Tim Robbins’s “Man Under”

Chloe Moretz as Michelle Pfeiffer's daughter? Okay, that makes sense.

Tim Robbins seemed to be heading down the actor-director path in the late ’90s, but hasn’t done much since other than some episodes of the TV series “Treme” and some videos. Now, though, he has two projects lined up–in August it was announced that he would direct “City of Lies,” and now Variety reports he’s set to direct and star in “Man Under,” a family drama that will star Michelle Pfeiffer and Chloe Moretz.

Described as similar in tone to “American Beauty” and “The Royal Tennenbaums,” the story focuses on “a Yonkers family whose lives are changed forever when a photo of them ends up in the Museum of Modern Art.” Ann Cherkis wrote the screenplay.

Pfeiffer was seen earlier this year in “People Like Us” and “Dark Shadows.” Moretz was also in “Dark Shadows.” She recently filmed the unnecessary “Carrie” remake and is currently filming “Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.”
