‘Men In Black 3’ On Way

The two Men In Black movies we have had so far are genius slices of classic cinema. I watch them at least once a year on DVD and never get sick of the idea of a secret government agency keeping tabs on aliens that live amongst us as valuable members of society. So the idea of a third film fills me with joy.

According to Dark Horizons, Men In Black 3 was announced during the Sony Pictures presentation at the annual ShoWest convention in Las Vegas. It was mentioned alongside two sequels we already knew about – Spider-Man 4 and Ghostbusters 3. The addition of Men In Black 3 was an unsuspected addition to the company’s future line-up.

Unfortunately, due to the casual announcement of the project, no further details are yet known. This includes whether or not the company wants the stars of the first two films, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, to head up the third film or whether an all-new cast will be sought.

With the right cast choices (hopefully at least bit parts for the old guard of Smith and Jones) and the right script, Men In Black 3 could be a huge hit. The first two films grossed over $1 billion between them and a third would likely grab the old audience as well as a new generation of fans.

I cannot wait.
