Meg Ryan is preparing to direct her first feature film, with a contemporary take on The Big Chill titled Into The Beautiful. And with a face like that I can see why Ryan, once the darling of the rom-com, is making the move to an off-screen role.
Maybe that’s a little cruel, but would you just look at the photo above? Meg Ryan now looks like a bloated version of The Joker thanks to an overabundance of collagen injections and cosmetic surgery. Then again, moving behind the camera means we at least won’t be put off going and seeing her movie because of it.
Very little is known about Into The Beautiful past the runners and riders. As well as Ryan directing, Wendy Finerman and Nathalie Marciano will be producing the flick which sees two longtime friends reuniting after a period apart from each other.
Ryan isn’t planning on starring as well as directing, and casting is set to begin soon. Into The Beautiful will start shooting in September in New York state.
I wish Ryan well in what could be a new career at the helm. She may no longer be a box office draw as an actor, but if she brings all her expertise to directing then she could well hit those heady heights once again. Let’s just hope she lays off the collagen and instead chooses to age gracefully from here on out.
