McKidd Hopes To Wield Thor’s Hammer

I have just found out that this is Kevin McKidd.
Kevin McKidd tells IGN that he is in the running for the role of Thor in Marvel’s adaptation of its, well, Thor series. He confirmed Kenneth Branagh is directing, as we talked about earlier this year. In fact, McKidd says it’s Branagh’s presence that makes him even more interested in the project. Me, too, Kevin! Let’s get together and discuss!
(Okay, full disclosure–until I found the picture for this post I couldn’t have ID’d McKidd if he had walked up to my door wearing a “Hi, I’m Kevin McKidd” name tag. I didn’t watch Rome and I’ve never seen an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. But I guess he seems like a good enough choice for Thor. Maybe there’s someone else I’d rather see, like…ah, let’s go crazy. I’ll say Jason Bateman. What? Why not?)
Thor is set for a July 16, 2010 release.

You didn’t watch the awesome but short lived show Journeyman? Or going a lot further back, wouldn’t recognize him from Trainspotting? Okay, I guess he has changed a lot since then, but he’s still awesome. Hope he gets it!

No, sorry…I don’t watch many TV shows…and I admit, I’m kind of a classic movie addict. I have more luck sometimes identifying B movie villains of the 1930s than some of today’s second tier stars. I’ll take your word on his awesomeness.
