Matt Damon The Director?

Matt Damon is one of my favorite actors in the world, alongside Johnny Depp (surely everyone’s favorite) and Forest Whitaker. Oh, and Tom Cruise… no, only joking.
Damon is fantastic in most films he stars in, and he especially made the role of Jason Bourne his own and created a rival to James Bond for the title of most exciting secret agent/hard case.
But Damon is also very versatile, as his recent role in The Informant! displays. And he seems like a nice guy off screen as well, even if the mocking of him in Team America: World Police (pictured above) is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
So, is there anything Damon cannot do? It seems not, as ContactMusic reports how he is looking to move behind the camera and become a director in years to come. He said:
“I can’t wait to direct. I choose my movies based on the director and so I’ve been treating the last 12 years like a film school. All the directors I’ve worked with have been very tolerant of my questions. The next step is for me to try it myself.”
“I’m not in a rush. The jobs that I’m getting not only are really exciting for me as an actor but I’m still working with people that I have a great deal to learn from.”
I certainly think Damon could be a great director. He’s a man who seems to listen and take in everything around him, and that probably includes every piece of advice given to him by a director in his 12 years as a Hollywood actor.
