...after I trade Mary Louise for Sarah Jessica.
UPDATE!! Congratulations to Moviefone and others who got the wrong Parker replacement this morning! The Hollywood Reporter and Variety are now reporting that it’s Sarah Jessica, not Mary Louise, who is replacing Demi Moore in “Lovelace.” See my correction filled post below.
So another question of vital, national importance appears to have been answered. Moviefone reports (via Us Weekly) that Mary Louise Sarah Jessica Parker will replace Demi Moore in “Lovelace.” Parker will play ’70s feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem in what has been described as a small role. Moore dropped out after suffering from exhaustion, or depression, or something like that.
“Lovelace,” as you know, is about the ’70s porn star Linda Lovelace. Amanda Seyfried stars as Lovelace.
Parker is fine enough casting, though she won’t be able to bring that utter humorlessness that was so natural to Moore and ’70s feminists, though as I have mentioned before, Steinem was a ’70s fashion icon, so that will be fun at least.
Parker will next be seen onscreen in “R.I.P.D.” with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. Parker was last seen in the forgettable exacta of “I Don’t Know How She Does It” and “New Year’s Eve.” She’s doing voice work for the animated “Escape from Planet Earth.”
And that’s the “Lovelace” news for the day. I hope.
