Marvel Movie News – Captain America 2, Thor 2, Nick Fury

While most of us are looking forward to the movies due out in 2012, the studios are looking further down the line to movies for 2013 and beyond. Such is the nature of film-making.

Marvel is the king of looking ahead, with and endless supply of movies based on one comic book hero or another in the works. And there are often cameos in previous movies signaling future intent. Hints at The Avengers movie have been showing up for years.

I’m sure I’m not alone in looking forward to seeing The Avengers in April. But we can all now look forward to the next three movies from Marvel, as revealed by Neal McDonough, who played Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger last year.

He told IMDb:

“Yeah, they’re planning (to go into production for) Captain America 2 for the end of this year, because Marvel does one film at a time. So they’re going to do Thor 2 and as soon as Thor 2 has wrapped, they’ll do Cap 2.”

“Hopefully right after that, we’ll jump into Nick Fury because that’s the one I’m looking forward to more than anything… it’ll be me and Sam Jackson. In the real Marvel universe, Dum Dum Dugan is Nick Fury’s right hand man.”

Captain America? Good. Thor? Good. Nick Fury? Meh. I’m not a fan. I just think the character has been shoehorned into the films a little too much. And it doesn’t help that it means Samuel L. Jackson is in more movies than ever before. He’s good but he’s not that good.
